Truss Design

Three-dimensional truss and frame modelling, analysis and scoped steel member checks.

Truss Design workspace showing steel section properties and a three-dimensional truss model with applied loads

Overview

Open Truss demo

Truss Design connects structural modelling, loads, frame analysis, result diagrams and steel H-member verification in one workspace. It uses a browser frame solver by default, with an optional OpenSees path, and provides KDS/AISC checks within the documented H-section scope. This is ongoing internal development for automating the company's design workflow; the product is not publicly released, and the linked application is a demo.

Technical capabilities

A structural model needs a traceable path from geometry and loads to member forces and the checks that apply to its sections.

Technical scope

  • Model three-dimensional nodes, members, restraints, steel properties and applied loads.
  • Run linear frame analysis with the browser solver or an explicitly selected OpenSees backend.
  • Review deformed shapes, reactions and member-force diagrams on the model.
  • Inspect KDS 2024 or AISC steel H-member checks within the implemented section and design-method scope.

Contribution

  • Bring structural modelling, analysis results and member verification into one engineering workflow.
  • Present diagrams and check utilization alongside the three-dimensional model.
  • Keep solver selection and design results tied to the current model and load cases.
